His tenure at Petronas included significant positions such as Head of Retail Trade Development, Registrar of the Petroleum Training Institute, and several senior managerial roles in job evaluation, trading, and refinery operations. Notably, he served as the General Manager of HR Planning and International HR, where he played a crucial role in strategic human resource management and planning.

Abdul Jalil's specialization in training administration, strategic human resource management, and management training has made him a sought-after trainer and speaker. His project experience includes leading and contributing to key initiatives like the development of Petronas' domestic retail marketing and international remuneration policies. He also chaired the review of Petronas' terms and conditions of service and was a steering committee member in the company's HR transformation efforts.
